Valentines Day

Valentines Day

Valentines day is the day that everyone does something special with a person they love. They go out on a date, go to a cafĂ© and spend the day together or you stay home together.  Then in schools the kids give out valentines to their special girls or guys.  They usually exchange gift of affection. These might be chocolates, candy, flower, cards, bears and many more. And there are at least a hundred love movies on Valentines Day.

I usually have school on Valentines Day so I cant just stay home or go out. Except in middle school we don’t really do valentines because we have seven different classes. We can however send a “kiss” sucker to someone of our choosing for a dollar. Then also at the student store they sell stuff animals to give to someone special. All this will make an awesome valentines day this year!

thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Its that time of year again when the turkey population plummets. The time of year when we pull out the extra-stretchy pants and start warring ridicules sweaters. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because you get you have giant feast! The different kinds of cranberry’s and the different sizes of turkeys.  When all of your relatives come to celebrate and bring food and sometimes gifts! On my thanksgiving my relatives come to celebrate with us! They bring different kinds of stuffing and cranberries. And my grandma brings the best potatoes you have ever tasted!

Thanksgiving is always celebrated on the 3rd Thursday of the month. This year thanksgiving is on Thursday November 28.We celebrate this holiday by eating a turkey that we stuff with delicious stuffing. You also (well in my opinion) have mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon! You also should usually have cranberries and homemade stuffing.  I can’t wait for this year because my relatives that I haven’t seen for a while are coming to visit. I hope you all have a great thanksgiving!

New year

Right after Christmas come the beloved holiday that is the passing of the year.  It’s when we make promises for the following year that we try to follow to make our lives better. Some promise to do better in school and some promise to stop drinking. Some promises are more serious then others. Mine are usually to do well in school and to have a good year. My grandparents and sometimes cousins come over to my house on new-year eve. And we usually have a big tasty dinner with lots of mashed potatoes and ham!
New-years is the day or rather night that we celebrate the passing of the old year and welcome the new-year. This is our deadline for our promises from last year and make new ones for the next year. The tradition is that at midnight the parents, grandparents, boyfriend and girlfriend kiss at midnight.
